On November 21, 2024, KI.NRW and AICommunityOWL are hosting the third AI Meetup NRW at the “Digital Campus Zollverein”as part of the AI Biennale in Essen. Experts from research, industry and the AI community will discuss what companies need to do now that the AI Act – the first European AI regulation – has been passed. In keynote speeches and discussion rounds, participants will receive concrete practical assistance, best practices and answers to their questions. In the green box at the bottom of this page, you will find further program items from KI.NRW at this year’s AI Biennale between 19 and 22 November.
Artificial intelligence offers immense opportunities and has experienced a massive boost in recent years. However, the increasing spread of AI is also leading to its use in some very sensitive areas. With the European AI Act, the trustworthy use of AI is now taking on a new quality. As the first comprehensive international law to regulate AI, the regulation sets out different rules for the development and use of applications. For companies and organizations, however, the recently passed law initially raises a number of questions: Which applications are covered by the law? What do users and providers need to consider? What tasks need to be fulfilled?
Get an early overview of the new rules and use the knowledge as an opportunity for your AI innovations! The half-day event gives companies an insight into the requirements, deadlines and developments relating to the AI Act. Concrete practical aids, best practices from companies and assessments from experts will answer the most important questions. The entertaining program of keynote speeches and discussion rounds will also provide enough time for a personal exchange of experiences.
